Get Ready to Step Into Your Space

One of my dear friends recently told me she feels like she takes up too much space. She was referring to her weight and how she feels about her body. I began wondering how many of us are afraid to take up “too much” space both physically and energetically? It got me thinking about space and our energy field.

It’s as if we think it’s a bad thing to make room for ourselves, our talents and creations. Imagine how different this world would be if everyone believed it’s not okay to take up space. If they believed it’s not okay to step into their own power and expand into their energy field if you will. We would be without amazing artwork, books, music, bridges, parks, fountains, and as many creative endeavors you can imagine.

I’m learning how powerful it is to step into my own and make space for me. Not allowing fear to stifle my creative genius. I no longer wish to reign in my abilities because I’m afraid of what someone else is going to think or say. I want to live, love, and manifest as many awesome experiences I can! I want to take up space, and expand into my energy field with love.

I encourage you to start releasing your fear. Don’t be afraid to own your space and your truth. Learn to love and trust in you. Guru Singh encourages us to show up expecting the best, because we get what we expect! You are worthy of this expansion, it is okay to step into and fill up your space. You deserve the best simply because of your existence.

Promoting Feminine Energy to Transform Our Lives

This past weekend I got the opportunity to hear “The Keys to Feminine Power” an online event with Katherine Woodward Thomas and Claire Zammit PhD. This is an ah-mazing talk geared for women! These two incredible women talk about inspiration, personal & spiritual growth, and really tapping into our feminine power. We know at some level that we can and will have a greater impact when we tap into our power and connect with a support system. I am so thankful for Katherine and Claire and having access to this incredible information. These ladies talk about the principles and powers to attract and use Feminine Energy. There are three distinct Power Bases for feminine energy.

Power Base #1: The Power to Change Your Life

All of the systems and techniques we’ve been using to create more power in our lives have been created by men. So when we do this we can’t help but see things in a masculine light. Manipulations, affirmations, and controlled behaviors don’t necessarily work for women. We often need a much more holistic and healing approach.

We experience life through emotions. When we decide what emotions we should be having we completely ignore this emotional center Claire speaks of. This can actually halt our progress. It’s necessary to acknowledge our core beliefs and our emotions.

One technique that includes the acknowledgment of our beliefs and any emotions we hold in our bodies is EFT (tapping). EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique which is an incredible tool anyone can use anytime & anywhere. For more information about EFT please visit my page.

Claire suggests stepping back and seeing all the things that you’ve created that were easy and organic. These are things for the most part that are in your sense of what you can create. Maybe they’re things you were told you can do or were supported by others. Look at the things that you want to create; things that you may struggle with…you may notice they’re outside your core sense of identity. The sense deep down inside you, what you feel is possible. The greatest possibility that we want to have and create for our lives are often outside what we deem possible. Until we actually shift our beliefs at the core, not much is going to change.

This is where feminine power the Power of Relatedness comes in. Where we learn to be in a relationship with ourselves we acknowledge all parts of ourselves. Including the parts we’re not jazzed about. We need to create a relationship with these parts of ourselves, turning towards the feelings and connect with all parts of us. Through this we can learn how to mentor these parts and beliefs we may have created when at age 2, 9, or older. Often they come about when we’re quite young.

Claire suggests going to those parts of you that you ignore, the parts that say “I’m not wanted,” “No one sees me,” “I’m not loved and appreciated,” or whatever it is they say.  With mentoring and EFT (tapping) you can actually challenge these parts of you that are scared, and learn to love and embrace them.

Think about an area in your life you’ve been trying to change for a long time now…romantic relationships, more fulfilling career, etc. drop your awareness down into your body. Where do feel it in your body? Choose to turn towards this feeling and welcome it. If this feeling could speak…what would it tell you? How old is this part of you? This is the time to ask a bunch of questions. Let’s say this part of you is 3 years old, Claire says to have the older you kind of tutor the younger you. What’s the best thing about being my current age? You might say that you have access to power, you’re strong and resilient…and you get to make choices!

Now breathe this strong, resilient woman into the younger part of yourself. Extend the energy into the earth and throughout the room, the part of you that knows how to extend kindness and wisdom to the younger you. You will tell the younger you that you see her, hear her, and that you’re going to care for her now. You begin to build a nurturing and loving relationship between your younger self and adult self.

Once we bring how we’re being into who and what we truly are life opens up and actually starts to transform our identity. We can finally have the experience of other people responding and relating to us. Basically we’re able to evolve beyond the patterns of the past. Once this is done we’re ready to co-create.

Power Base #2: Begin to Cultivate a New Way of Creating Your Life

Claire says, “In my clearest moments I knew what my calling was but I had no idea what the fullness of that would look like. I was underneath someone else’s vision. I felt like a voice that needed to be heard, I never would have put myself into what and where I’m at now. I had no idea looking back 10-15 years that this is where I’d end up.”

The challenge of realizing our destiny is that we need to navigate our way to a destination that doesn’t exist just yet. So we don’t really know what it looks like. We cannot apply masculine energy to this or goal setting. Instead we step into this partnership with life where we create together. We access the deeper desires of what we’re holding and what we want to create. We can access the confidence and ability to create what we’ve wanted. In order to do this we have to embrace trust and faith in the process of life. Any area of our lives that we’re not experiencing is an area where we need to work on trust and belief.

First you will need to connect with the deeper part of you within your body. This is where you have access to the unlimited support of life/universe. We can connect with our deepest desire of what we’d like to express through meditation, deep breathing, and EFT. Once you connect with this part of yourself you begin to co-create. It opens you up to receive. This is a time to ask, “What’s my next step in moving forward?” Connecting with this part allows you the confidence to move forward.

Most of us don’t have this embodied sense of trust and faith. There is an inability to act on a deeper more spiritual level. We don’t trust our own intuition. We can become a powerful co-creator with the universe when we learn to trust.

Power base 3: The Power to Change the World

This is where we activate the power of the collective field. This allows us to succeed in the biggest possible way. We need much more support. We have this idea that we need or ask for support it’s a sign of weakness, once again you cannot access this third power with masculine energy. In order to really come into our own power we must nurture relationships and become true partners. Something happens when we come together with others, a great power is released. When Katherine and Claire came together they discovered this. They stood for each other and supported new ways for them to show up. They discovered the power of the Collective Field.

Many of us feel alone and we haven’t cultivated a way to come together and work

One way to access this power is begin to find people that we relate to and say to them, “I am really standing to share my gifts with the world, will you stand with me?” Basically you’re asking your support team/friends to help your accountable for living in a way that’s consistent and congruent with your highest self.

Most of us don’t have relationships like this in our lives. Too often we feel alone and unsure of how to create a way to come together and work with other women and men. When we have people standing with us and for us supporting who we are becoming is extremely powerful. We’re able to activate the power of the Collective Field. This is where we have true partners on our journey that mirror us and stand for us so we can become women who bond in a powerful, positive way.

When you make this shift within yourself where you embrace and connect with all parts of you. There is a tremendous sense of liberation. By shining our own light and finally stepping into our radiance we encourage others to do the same thing. For more information about Katherine and Claire’s work visit their website.

No Longer Playing Small

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.”  ~Marianne Williamson

One of my dear sweet friends sent me this quote on Facebook. “Our deepest fear is that we are powerful…” made me want to curl up in a ball and weep for days. Who knew being a powerful force of love and goodness could be so terrifying?  The thought of embracing all that I am and feeling love and appreciation for me feels quite bizarre.

My whole life I’ve been taught to look outside myself for love, acceptance, admiration, and attention. I was able to find acceptance from others by always being available, giving so much of myself that there wasn’t much left for me. I found admiration from others by doing all that I could and keeping an upbeat attitude, even when I was hurting inside.  I was able to find love from almost everyone I met because I have the ability to always see the beauty in others.

I have begun to see all the love, admiration, acceptance, and attention I want can also come from me. I can accept my actions no matter how unusual they may look to someone else. I can give myself lots of attention and care for my amazing mind and body in ways I never thought to before.

Pain, Criticism, and Amazing EFT

Two weeks ago I was walking RJ (my little Boston Terrier mix) when my back began to throb. I haven’t felt pain like this for over two months. Last December I suffered a back injury and was often in so much pain I couldn’t walk more than 2-3 minutes without having to squat down. Ten to fifteen minutes of walking often resulted in tears. I have a bulging disc and it pushes up against my sciatic nerve. It has often felt like someone is alternating between stabbing me with little knives and stinging me with thousands of needles. It often started in my low back and worked its way down my right leg, down to my ankle.

When this pain popped up again so suddenly it took my breath away.  Initially I was terrified but soon my terror turned to rage. I began to criticize myself for not doing enough stretches and yoga. I started looking at everything I’d eaten that day, notating anything that could have triggered the pain. Anger, doubt, and criticism flooded my system.

I took RJ to my car and sat there. I allowed myself to feel the anger and the heartache over this pain. I took several deep breaths. I began to realize why I was in pain. I had been pushing myself to do, do, do and go, go, go. I wasn’t listening to my body and asking her how she’s doing. I wasn’t remembering to speak to myself with kindness and love. I wasn’t really talking to myself at all unless to push and criticize myself. No wonder my back was hurting again!

I decided in that moment to stop. I said to myself, “I’m stopping now. I am going to love me no matter what. I’m looking for the good inside me. I know it’s here. I know this love, joy, and peace I seek is right here within.”

I began to see how I was looking externally, when the love has been in me this whole time! I am love and so are you! When we look outside for the love and acceptance we crave we totally overlook the fact that we can give it to ourselves. We can do this anytime and anywhere we choose. Wow! This was yet another breakthrough for me. I decided this was a time for praise not punishment.

I began to praise myself and this knowledge. I was in awe of the rush of love running throughout my body. I’ve been to lectures on love and read about love in numerous books by Louise Hay, Jack Canfield, Esther Hicks, Leo Buscaglia, and Wayne Dyer. Most recently I’ve been reading Marianne Williamson’s book “A Return to Love.” Until I felt it at a soul level the words didn’t fully register. How powerful a feeling is. Marianne’s book is filled with empowering awesomeness though, and I am truly grateful for her.

After some deep breathing and a few EFT sessions my back pain subsided. I haven’t had any major flare ups since. Whenever I start to feel a bit of pain I go within and ask my body what she needs. Sometimes pain means our body needs attention. Give yourself some attention and love. Some part of you knows how much you deserve this.

I developed an EFT (tapping) script from all these feelings I had that day. This is a guide for you to use whenever you want to shift towards love. You can use different meridian points if you choose. For more guidance watch the video below before starting the script.

Chest: I no longer wish to put myself down. I wish to release criticism and doubt.

Sternum: But if that’s all I am able to do for now, I allow myself to continue. I forgive myself for criticism.

Top of Ribs: I am embracing criticism. I am embracing my self-doubt and fear.

Underarm: I love my fear now.

Top of Head: I choose to give my fear a big hug.

Eyebrow:  I choose to wrap my arms around my fear and anything I would deem negative. I wrap my arms around it all in a loving embrace.

Side of Eye: I love you criticism, I love you self-doubt.  I love you, Insert your name, no matter what you do.

Under Eye: I love you no matter what you say. I love you no matter how you feel.

Under Nose: I choose to embrace all parts of me.

Chin: I choose to start loving me.

Chest: I’m going to love all of me now. It’s safe to love me. All is right in my world. Namaste.

You can repeat this script as often as you like. Don’t be afraid to add insights as they come up. Be proud of yourself for wanting to love more. Self-love is the most amazing gift I’ve ever given. I plan to continue giving it daily!

When You Love Yourself Others Will Too

No suffering is ever about another person, it is always the result of the relationship between you and yourself. It stems from not enough self-love. We sometimes look to others to make us feel special and lovable. Why does it seem difficult to get the love we need from others?

The real question to ask yourself is, “Am I practicing unconditional love for myself?” The person who the unconditional love must start with is you. No one else will be able to compensate for the lack of love you give to yourself. This is how the universe works.

What does unconditional love look like and feel like? Well, someone that truly loves themselves speaks kindly to and about themselves; someone who does what they enjoy; someone who allows other’s to treat them well; and someone who finds joy daily...to name a few!

It all starts with our thoughts. What I tell myself and you tell yourself is super important. Do you say kind things or bad things in relation to you? You may be almost oblivious to the poor self-talk and limiting beliefs. That’s ok. You can start today to turn things around.
Focus on one positive aspect about you and praise yourself for it. Continue doing this until you’ve created a list of all your good qualities. When you have a down day you can look back over your list for inspiration. When you’re experiencing an awesome day remember to add to your list.

Expanding Into Our Energy Field - More Tapping with Anna

I often wondered if writer’s block isn’t just an excuse because I’m letting fear take over. Maybe I’m afraid to let my creativity flow and expand into my energy field? Maybe I’m afraid of being seen?

A close friend of mine recently said to me she feels like she takes up too much space. She was referring to her weight and overall body image. I began thinking that a lot of us may be afraid to take up space. Not entirely weight/size wise, more in stepping in to our own and making space or a place for ourselves. Not allowing fear to stifle our creativity.
How many of us are tired of staying quiet when we want to sing, or dance, or possibly shout? It’s time for a major energy shift, one in which we hone our abilities and share them with the world. We don’t have to be afraid to expand in this world, to expand into our energy fields (or whatever you like to call it).  This is a time when we can live, love and manifest remarkable new experiences. We can finally start taking up space, and take up as much space as possible!
Let’s fill our field with love and gratitude, letting go of fear to own our truth. Learning to love ourselves and expect to get all the things we desire. We are worthy of this and deserve all of it just because we exist.

Why Loving Yourself Can be So Darn Scary

My mom said the most poignant thing to me the other day. We were talking about EFT and creating better lives for ourselves. She said when you love yourself fully you're finally taking complete responsibility for you. Through tapping (EFT) and meditation my mom has broken through several limiting core beliefs about herself. She told me that being a single parent and raising two kids seemed less intimidating than taking full responsibility for herself!

This was so enlightening to me. I never realized how much fear I have about taking responsibility for me…what if I let myself down? I never want to let anyone down, I’ve spent years trying to be the perfect friend, daughter, girlfriend, sister, employee, boss, customer, co-worker, and several other titles just because I didn’t want to let anyone down. Taking responsibility for me means honoring and loving myself. All these what-if’s started popping up when I took a closer look at my fear relating to loving myself. What if I’m not cut out for it? What if I can’t really love myself? How am I going to do this?
Whenever I’m faced with something that seems overwhelming or super scary I often make a list of things that help me feel more prepared. I came up with a few steps I’ve been taking along this journey of self-love. Step 1: being truthful about what I want and what makes me happy. Step 2: starting to overcome my fear, which tapping helps me with daily (sometimes hourly!) Step 3: believing I can do this. The believing part is crucial. You must believe that you can do this. Anything you want to accomplish and have in your life comes quickly when you believe it’s already yours. Step 4: acting like it is so. What would someone who loves themself and takes full responsibility for themself look like? Well, they’d probably say good things about themself, I imagine they smile a good bit, eat well (zero fast food), exercise (preferably yoga), create and experience things that bring joy, and surround themself with people that think they’re awesome.

I look back at all the things I’ve accomplished and I know if I can do all of that…I can do this too. I challenge you to look back at your life, you’ve done some pretty spectacular things I’m sure! Make a list of your top 10 accomplishments; shoot for 20 if it feels right. Believe in yourself and your ability to love yourself and take responsibility for you! Try meditation and EFT to shift your energy. Don’t forget to practice gratitude every day. I wake up each morning and say at least 10 things I’m grateful for. Gratitude automatically shifts your energy to a more loving place where anything is possible.
